Tip: Use the Services
The Services menu makes it very easy to copy selected text as a new document into DEVONthink. Use it, for example, to quickly store parts of e-mails or information from web sites. Simply select any text you want to store and choose "Services > DEVONthink > Take Plain Note" or "... > Take Rich Note" from the application's main menu (that is, the menu labelled with the name of the application, e.g. "Omniweb" or "TextEdit"). Use "Append Plain Note" and "Append Rich Note" to add selected text to the end of the last note taken. Alternatively, you can use the system-wide shortcuts provided (see appendix).
If you are working regularly with Services, it may be more comfortable to deactivate "Open browser at startup" in the preferences ("Preferences > General"). This prevents DEVONthink from becoming the frontmost application every time you take a note or summarize a text.
Please note that this feature is only available when the application package resides inside one of the Applications folders, and you have logged out and in again after the installation. Mac OS X 10.3 "Panther" or later recognizes applications everywhere after logging out and in again.
